Language & Culture (Mexico)
Leticia Chávez, a native to Mexico City, is a subject-matter-expert as an intercultural trainer, destination consultant and language instructor to expatriates.
Her professional career has been developing around teaching languages to companies’ executives, managers, and directors. In 1999 she began this satisfying path in of teaching French to executives at Bombardier. During these almost twenty years, she has taught French, English, and Spanish in international companies. Teaching Spanish to expatriates has challenged her to explore her own language, city, and country. She has had the opportunity to serve expatriates administering Spanish tests, translating meetings, documents and supporting negotiations in companies such as Bloomberg LP, LG Electronics and the Japan Embassy. She has shown them the way of life and speak Spanish in Mexico City as a “chilango”, as the people from the city are called would have them experience it. She has developed the ability to perform destination consulting in the city and archeological sites such as the famous “Pyramids of Teotihuacan”. I am able to recommend traditional places to taste the delicious Mexican cuisine. I guide accurately throughout the most important museums, parks, squares, markets, and neighborhoods in the city.
In the Mexican labor arena, I help business people to have successful experiences beyond the stereotypes and cultural shocks.
My personal life moves around people who came to Mexico because of different purposes. I have friends from Spain, USA, Macedonia, Argentina, Germany, and South Korea. I share my life with an Italian partner who has been living an intercultural life as an expatriate in Mexico.
